Voces del Atrato I
I went to Colombia with the Austrian Climate Alliance. To Chocó, a rainforest region in Colombia. We filmed a short documentary about the country, its people and local problems caused by illegal gold and copper mines. We travelled the river Rio del Atrato from its mouth to the sea by bus and boat.
The Climate Alliance partnership with the Chocó, counteracts the environmentally destructive gold and copper mines. They organise ecological micro-projects in which they promote alternatives to mining (such as the promotion of local, ecological agriculture). Read more here. The photo series below, is the beginning of the journey. We started the expedition in Carmen del Atrato, a small village at the mouth of the Rio Atrato. You can watch the film here.
